PURPOSE

Enhancing the right of every defendant and suspect to representation by the instructing solicitor they chose.

This service makes visible to Instructing Solicitors and Agencies, which of their own staff and which independent agents are available to cover a matter at a particular venue.

Instructing Solicitors are able to provide representation across the jurisdiction at short notice.

Agencies, Independent Agents and Instructing Solicitors are able to build relationships with eachother.

THE SERVICE

Crime Cover Directory lists criminal defence lawyers available now and in the future, to represent people at magistrates’ courts and police stations as an agent or instructed solicitor.

Membership is limited to solicitors, barristers, police station representatives, instructing solicitor firms and agencies.

Members can publish their current and future availability at a magistrates’ court or police station.

Members can search police stations and magistrates’ courts for other members who are available to represent a defendant or suspect.

Members must carry out their own due diligence when contracting with any party introduced through this directory.

FEES

This service is free to use. I retain the right to introduce fees, additional services and tiers of membership.

METHOD

This is not a tracking app.

Members enter their current or future location once. This is stored on a database and published in member’s search results.

Members stay published at that location until they cancel their availability or the automatic cutoff activates.

Automatic cutoff. Magistrates courts, 4.30pm. Police stations, 4 hours after publishing. GPS publishing, midnight.

The service is a webpage. iPhone and Android phone apps are in development.

OWNERSHIP

I am a Duty Solicitor employed by Tuckers Solicitors. This is not a Tuckers project and not connected to my employer. Nevertheless I would like to thank Tuckers for their support and guidance. This project will enhance the right of suspects and defendants to be represented by the instructing solicitor of their choice.

PRIVACY

Your data is not rented or sold. It remains your property. You can vary or delete it at any time.

A personal record of your published locations and searches, activity data, is available for 6 years as it may be considered part of a case file. This can be viewed on your membership page. You can have a pdf copy automatically emailed to you at any time. If you delete your membership a pdf of your activity data is emailed to you and all your records are deleted.

SECURITY

AI’s growing ability is making cybersecurity near impossible. Please limit the information you provide to this service to your professional data only. SuperPowerSeven email is routed thru Google for security reasons. Likewise this service is built by Anthropic’s latest large model.
